Perfectly located for exploring the Northumberland coast and countryside, the hut provides direct access to some of the best coastal walks, scenic drives, and nature trails in the region. Whether you’re on a walking holiday, or looking for a rural escape with the family, Lindisfarne Lookout is an excellent base.

Inside, the hut is fully equipped with hot running water, an electric shower, and a kitchen with oven and hob. The well-insulated interior and double-glazed windows ensure a warm and cosy stay all year round, making it ideal for both summer holidays and winter breaks.

Outside, guests can enjoy a private garden and furnished veranda with panoramic sea and countryside views. A wood-burning stove offers a cosy outdoor space for relaxing evenings, while private on-site parking adds convenience.

Thanks to the area’s exceptionally dark skies, Lindisfarne Lookout is perfect for stargazing in Northumberland, offering clear night skies and a peaceful setting.

Living & Dining Area

The indoor dining area features a table and four chairs, providing a comfortable space to dine inside the hut when the weather requires it. The layout is cleverly designed to make the most of the available space.

Kitchen

The kitchen area is equipped with a two-ring electric hob, a countertop oven and grill, and an under-counter fridge/freezer. Crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and cooking utensils are all provided for your convenience.

Double Bedroom

The bedroom features a double bed with a luxury mattress and crisp cotton sheets. It benefits from two windows, one of which overlooks the lawn and offers views towards Holy Island. There is hanging and drawer space for clothing, along with a wall-mounted 32-inch Freeview television.

Children's Room

Sleeps two and features a bunk bed, along with hanging space for clothes and a large window overlooking views towards Holy Island. Please note that the bunk beds are suitable for children only.

Bathroom

Located just off the kitchen, the bathroom features an electric shower, flushing toilet, and hand basin with hot water. All towels and toiletries are provided.

Veranda & Garden

A covered veranda with a wood-burning stove offers views across the surrounding countryside, creating a cosy outdoor space to relax in all seasons. In addition, there is a picnic table within the private garden and a fenced lawn area for your exclusive use. If you wish to pitch a tent during your stay, please specify this when booking.

The Northumberland Coastal Path and St Oswald’s Way footpath actually pass through the farm within short walking distance of the hut.

Location

For the Walkers

St Cuthbert's Way, St Oswald's Way and the Northumbrian Coastal Path can all be joined at their various stages near to the village of Belford. Further inland, the Cheviot Hill range provide excellent walks and viewpoints with 360 degree views.

For the Cyclists

The 120 mile Sandstone Way cycle route is a fabulous way to see more of the area. There are also numerous country lanes and bridleways to explore. There is secure storage available for your bike upon request.

Shopping

The hut is situated approximately 1.5 miles from the village of Belford where you can pick up your everyday essentials from the well equipped village Co-op/Post Office. Large supermarkets in Berwick-upon-Tweed or Alnwick, both a 20 minute drive.

City Visits

The city of Edinburgh is easily accessible — only 45 minutes away by train from Berwick Railway station. Newcastle can be accessed by car within one hour.

Getting Around

A car is advised due to the rural location. There is private parking space for 2 cars adjacent to the hut. The site provides direct access on to the Coastal driving route between Alnmouth and Lindisfarne.

Eating Out

From coffee shops to fish & chip takeaways, to pub lunches, fine restaurants and everything in between, there are so many places to choose from in the various towns and villages nearby!
