All three of our properties are located on the North Northumberland coast, overlooking peaceful farmland and within easy reach of both the coastline and the inland hills.
This remarkable area offers over 40 miles of pristine sandy beaches, numerous historic castles, and some of the best wildlife and birdwatching in the UK.
Whether you’re walking the Northumberland Coastal Path, cycling quiet country lanes, exploring nearby towns and villages, or simply relaxing on the beach, you’ll find endless inspiration right on your doorstep.
Northumberland offers over 640 miles of walking routes, over 40 miles of unspoilt beaches, and more castles than any other county in England.
Just 4 miles from the huts and 5 miles from the cottage lies the iconic Bamburgh Castle — one of England’s most famous coastal landmarks.
Inside, you’ll find fascinating exhibitions, grand historic rooms, and stories spanning over a thousand years of Northumbrian heritage.
Outside, its striking silhouette against the sea makes it one of the most photographed castles in the country, with the surrounding beach offering miles of scenic walks and unforgettable sunsets.
A unique and atmospheric visitor destination, Holy Island of Lindisfarne is only accessible via a causeway at low tide, adding to its sense of adventure and seclusion.
Visitors can explore the evocative ruins of the Priory, believed to be the cradle of Christianity in northern England, along with the nearby Lindisfarne Castle and the charming village streets.
With its dramatic coastal setting, rich religious heritage, and abundant birdlife and nature reserves, it offers a truly unforgettable experience for walkers, history lovers, and anyone seeking a peaceful escape.

A group of islands renowned for their spectacular seabird colonies, including puffins, and rich marine wildlife, the Farne Islands are one of the UK’s most important nature reserves.
Just off the Northumberland coast, they are best known for their thriving populations of puffins, Arctic terns, guillemots, and grey seals. Boat trips from Seahouses Harbour (15 mins drive) offer unforgettable close-up encounters with the wildlife, especially during the breeding season when the islands are at their most vibrant.
Steeped in maritime history and once home to early Christian hermits, the Farne Islands combine dramatic coastal scenery with some of the finest wildlife watching in the country.
The second largest inhabited castle in England, often referred to as the “Windsor of the North,” is the magnificent Alnwick Castle, famed for its dramatic medieval architecture, grand State Rooms, and beautifully maintained grounds.
Visitors can explore its rich heritage through guided tours, interactive exhibits, and seasonal events, while also recognising it as a popular filming location for major productions, including scenes from the Harry Potter films.
The Alnwick Garden is a fantastic day out and one of Northumberland’s most popular attractions, located next to Alnwick Castle. It’s a modern, beautifully designed garden with plenty to explore, from the impressive Grand Cascade water feature to the incredible Treehouse restaurant.
There are seasonal displays, themed gardens, and peaceful walks throughout, as well as cafés and spaces to relax. It’s a great place for all ages and well worth a visit while you’re exploring the area.

We all felt very comfortable and at home, the views from the cottage were stunning, my favourite memory from our holiday was sitting on the swing seat with a cuppa, taking in the view and watching the sheep in the field opposite, bliss! Found the location was perfect for us, not far from the coast, Berwick and Alnwick were an easy drive, boat trip to Farne Islands, Lindisfarne, Cragside and Bambergh Castle definitely recommended.
